Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter and youngest child of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5, 1956, at Woodland Hills California. Her father was a teacher and her mom was a homemaker. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick has always loved performing, dancing and putting on show puppets. When she was just 6, McCormick won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire whether she was keen to work in showbusiness. McCormick was offered her first major task when she was cast as a television character in the 1964 commercial of Mattels latest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. The commercial was re-run in the year 1964 for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the lead role in the play Wind It Up and It breaks, a production at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was picked from among 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance for the role of the oldest of three daughters towheaded on the new TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with an unintended family. The run of five years for the show proved to be a huge great success. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice released in 2008, McCormick admitted that in the fifth season, she almost lost her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams.
