Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic captain of the team who won gold in 2012. Aly Raisman holds the distinction of having six Olympic medals as well as two World Championships gold medals. Aly is a native of Massachusetts discovered her love for gymnastics at the age of 18 months when she was a student in a mommy-me class. Aly Raisman is a proponent of body positivity, a leader both on and off-the-floor and spoke about Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. Aly Raisman, born in 1994, started gymnastics as an infant and contributed to helping with the U.S. team to win the 2011 World Championships. The following year she won two gold medals -- one in the team competition and the second in the competition for the solo floor workout--along with a bronze on the beam at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Raisman returned to the Olympics twice in Rio in 2016and won two silver medals. One in each of the all-around exercise and floor, as well as one for gymnastics in the women's team competition. In 2017, Raisman revealed she had been abused sexually at the treatment of team physician Larry Nassar, and the next year, she filed a lawsuit against USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
