Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her family consisted of her mother, who was an housewife, and her father who taught. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. McCormick began dancing and singing at an early age and frequently performed puppet shows in front of children in her area. At the age six, McCormick was crowned her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether the actress was interested in a career in show business. McCormick was offered her first significant job in 1964 as she acted in a commercial on television for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year she appeared in an additional firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was immediately selected for her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp And ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the oldest daughter in the trio of towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The run of five years for the show proved to be a huge successful one. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the television show she almost lost the love of her life to her sister Barry Williams. He was just 19. She was just 16. She told me that it could have been feasible, but we didn't have the proper moment to make the decision.
