Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father taught school while her mother was a domestic worker. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her elder brothers. McCormick has always loved performing, dancing and performing performances with puppets. She won in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 and was then contacted through Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to work in the business of show production. McCormick landed her first major job in 1964 when she starred in a TV commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. She subsequently starred in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for Wind It Up and It's Breaks at The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen from a field of 1200 children who auditioned to be the youngest of three daughters towheaded in the upcoming TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The five-year run of the show proved to be a huge success. McCormick revealed her story in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year duration on the program. She was 16 years old at the time and he was just 19. She said that it would be possible, however it was never the best time to do it.
